KILLDEER FOOD CO

This week Killdeer Food Co has a bounty of pepper products!

Jimmy Sauce – it’s a saucy sassy number, rich with roasted Jimmy Nardello peppers, which are so sweet and rich, blended with slow roasted Roma tomatoes, thyme & oregano. It’s frozen and will emotionally taste better in 3 months, but of course it’s perfectly delicious now.

Roasted Sweet Pepper Antipasto – a simple and charming appetizer on baguette, or toss it with some pasta or on a sandwich.

Pico de Gallo – fresh salsa! Seasonally at its peak right now.

Fresh ginger! Get it while you can – it’s a fall treat that can’t be beat.

Watermelon Radish – spicy and sweet, really outstanding in a coleslaw.

All the potatoes! Fingerlings and russets!

SEE SALTHAVEN WILDLIFE REHABILITATION & EDUCATION CENTRE THIS SATURDAY

Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre is committed to the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned or otherwise compromised wildlife; our goal is to return healthy animals to their natural habitat. Through education we are dedicated to increasing public awareness about and respect for the issues affecting Canadian wildlife.

On a busy day we receive 150 phone calls for sick, injured or orphaned wild animals. One hundred and twenty volunteers are taught how to care for the needs of over 1,200 wild animals that find their way to Salthaven’s clinic in Strathroy, Ontario.

Patients require varying degrees of rehabilitation, but they all require the financial support of the community to help with surgeries, medications, food and housing. We are extremely grateful for your support that helps us, help you, to keep the wild in wildlife.
