Reason to celebrate

We’re enjoying September at the market with all the incredible produce that is available this time of year. Be sure to get melons, strawberries and corn while they are still in season and enjoy the start of fall crops such as spinach, broccoli and cauliflower!

Lynch Farms: Lynch Farms will have chili sauce and peach jam along with a good supply of maple products

Apple Meadow Organics: Steve, Linda and Melanie are very please bring you our certified organic veggies through to mid November.  This week our famous mennonite garlic (and a couple of others), spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, beets and our renowned carrots.   Russet, fingering, and yukon potatoes, spinach, onions and 3 kinds of Kale!   Looking forward to seeing our old friends and meeting some new!

Free Cooking Class

Join us for our free cooking class this Saturday from 11-12 in the market kitchen. Join Chef Carmen Barquero for a cooking demonstration using local, market ingredients. Carmen is making acorn squash with kale and sausage and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies!

Fall Food Fest

Join us on Saturday September 29th for our annual Fall Food Fest in partnership with Growing Chefs. From 10am-1pm on the market square join us for a celebration of the harvest! This event is family friendly and free of charge.

Here is our schedule of events:

10am: Kid’s activities on the square (pumpkin tic tac toe, scavenger hunts and more)

10:30am :Free corn roast on the square with local corn and flavoured butters

11am: Free cooking class with Chef Ryan featuring delicious thanksgiving sides

12pm:  tasting contest with local chefs, sample and vote for which local chef can create the best squash dish!
