What are Welsh Cakes, you ask? “A Welsh Cake is a cross between a scone and a cookie. It has a crispy exterior with a soft crumbly inside. This is achieved by rolling out the cold dough and cooking each cake on a flat top bakestone. The traditional recipe is mixed spice with currants but we here at the Welsh Baker like to experiment with new flavour profiles. Some new creations include cherry and almond, rosemary and cheddar, basil and sundried tomato, dried orange with dark chocolate. Limitless possibilities!”
