Tricked ya!

Well it looks like the summer weather has decided to hold out for a bit longer! If you love strawberries as much as we do, this is great news. The dry weather has been great for these late season berries. We are still getting that sweet berry smell wafting our way from Thames River Melons and Joyce Farms. Over at Havaris produce, one of our indoor vendors, Heeman Berries are available all week long! Make sure to stock up on these sweet local gems. This week is going to fun with Fall Food Fest happening on Saturday, and Storm Stayed Brewery returning to our Thursday evening market. Let's go ahead an see what's on this week!

Whole Grain Cooking Class

Remember Shayna from the downtown Café Rebel Remedy? She taught a great class a few weeks ago and this weekend her business partner and nutritionist Julie will be taking a turn teaching the class. It is Heritage Grain weekend, so Julie will be taking us through how whole grains, and fibre play a role in our diets.

If the menu at Rebel is any indication we know that the food and information will be fantastic. Don’t miss this one! It runs 11-12 in the market kitchen, and is first come first serve. See you then!

Fall Food Fest Schedule

We mentioned this event in last week’s newsletter so this week will give you some more details of the schedule. It will be a very kid friendly event so bring the whole family!

9-sold out: Growing Chefs will be cooking up a storm and handing out FREE servings.

9-1: Kids Games; Tic Tac Toe, Bean Bag Toss, Funny Vegetable Contest, and a Dress Up Photo Booth!

11-12: Free Cooking Class in the Market Kitchen

12-1: Local Chefs Sampling Whole Grain recipes, outside of the Market Kitchen on the Mezzanine
