Wow, London!

Wow, London! You showed up! We were captivated by all the beauty and diversity that was here this past Sunday! The Multicultural Festival showcased local, ethnic communities that shared their stories through delicious cuisine, displays and sounds! The energy at the Market was electric, seeing people of all backgrounds come together in one place & celebrate diversity! ⁣   Thank you to the London Multicultural Community Association for all your hard work and dedication for making this event possible and to all of you, our London community for coming out and celebrating with us!

FREE YOGA TODAY FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Take a mental health break and join Yoga for mental health live in one of the 4 participating cities across Canada. The event supports mental health for all people in Canada.

Take a mental health break and join Yoga for mental health, live and in-person in one of 4 participating cities across Canada – London, Toronto, Regina and Winnipeg – over the lunch hour today Thursday, June 16. This event supports mental health for all people in Canada.

WHAT’S IT ABOUT

A recent survey revealed 35% of all people working in Canada reported experiencing burnout – with some professions, like nursing, reporting up to 66%.

Workplace Strategies for Mental Health has always focused on helping employers and employees to reduce workplace stress and improve mental health. One way to do this is to take our breaks every day, and spend that time calming our minds and relaxing our bodies. Yoga has the potential to do this.

Master yoga instructors certified with YogaFit Canada will guide participants through a series of poses geared to relaxation. No prior knowledge or experience is required. As part of this event, Canada Life will donate $25 per participant, up to $15,000, to the Canadian Mental Health Association in support of mental health for all.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

  • The sessions will run from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. local time, to give you time to get to and from work on your lunch hour. Plan to arrive close to noon to find a spot and get comfortable.
  • Space is limited. Registrations will be accepted first come, first served.
  • Please bring your own yoga mat. The first 50 participants at each location will get a free Workplace Strategies for Mental Health branded mat.
  • Invite your family and friends to participate with you!  They will need to register separately.
  • Bring water and wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
  • When you register online, you’ll be asked to agree to a waiver and a photo release, as we expect media to be present.
  • If you can’t make it to one of the live events, a Yoga for mental health video will also be released on June 16. Watch and follow along!
