3 Drinks; Masala Chai, Masala Milk, Turmeric Latte

Ingredients

Masala Chai *makes 4 to 6 cups*

Ingredients:

  • 5 tbsp Broken leaf black tea leaves CTC Tea leaves
  • 6 cups water
  • 2″ cinnamon stick
  • 8 green cardamom pods
  • 3 tsp grated ginger
  • ⅛ tsp cloves, ground
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper, ground
  • A pinch of nutmeg, grated
  • 3 cups 3.25% milk
  • Sugar or honey or syrup as per preference

 

Masala Milk *makes 4 cups*

Ingredients:

  • 2 L Oat Milk
  • 1.5 cups condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp almonds, toasted and chopped
  • 2 tbsp pistachios, toasted and chopped
  • 2 tbsp macadamia nuts, toasted and chopped
  • 2 tbsp chironji nuts, roughly chopped (optional, can use pine nuts instead)
  • 2 tsp green cardamom, ground
  • 1 tsp nutmeg, ground
  • 2 pinches of cinnamon, ground
  • 1 tsp dry rose petals (optional)
  • A pinch of saffron

 

Turmeric Latte *makes 4 cups*

Ingredients:

  • 2L 3.25% milk
  • 1 tsp turmeric, groun
  • ½ tsp cinnamon, ground
  • A pinch of nutmeg, grated
  • A pinch of black pepper, grated
  • Sugar or honey or syrup as needed

Directions

Masala Chai *makes 4 to 6 cups*

Method:

  1. Start with boiling water in a pot. 6 cups. Add grated ginger, and other dry spices to it.
  2. As the water starts simmering add tea leaves. Let the mixture boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Lower the heat and add milk. Simmer for 2 minutes. Turn the heat up and boil for 2 more minutes. At this point, your space should be filled with a warm aroma of spices.
  4. Turn the heat off and add your sweetener.
  5. Strain in cups, serve hot with Parle G biscuits.

 

Masala Milk *makes 4 cups*

Method:

  1. Add milk and condensed milk to a pot. Add all the spices and Simmer on low heat for 20 to 30 minutes.
  2. Garnish with nuts and rose petals. Serve warm.

 

Turmeric Latte *makes 4 cups*

Method:

  1. Boil 2 litres milk in a pot. Add ground spices and Simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Take it off the heat and add your sweetener.
  3. Serve warm.
