Dreaming of Spring Days Ahead

February's almost over and we can't help but daydream about springtime. Our Indoor Farmer's Market is in full swing, Sampling Sunday has been featuring cozy lunch options, and we're thinking about how we can support our local vendors even during the last dregs of these dreary winter months. March is just around the corner and we've got so much in store for you at the Market — let's talk about it!

Farmers Feed Cities!

Buying from local vendors keeps money circulating within our community and helps your favourite small businesses thrive! According to the Government of Canada, small and medium-sized businesses account for 99% of all Canadian businesses and employ 64% of Canada’s private sector workforce. #ShopLocal this week, and know that your dollars are doing something kind for your community! 🙂‍↕️🇨🇦

Winter Citrus & Where to Find It 🍊🛒🇨🇦

November through ’til March, citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruits, blood oranges, clementines, meyer lemons, and many more are at their peak level of vibrancy and juiciness. Although these fruits aren’t grown locally, our produce vendors source only the very best so you can enjoy citrus season prime time even when it’s snowing in Southern Ontario. ❄️🍋‍🟩

Visit our produce vendors, Havaris Produce and Doris Family Produce, to add a little zest and brightness to these dull winter days. 🍊✨

Buy Yourself Flowers!

Flowers will be popping up in garden beds all over the city in a matter of weeks, but in the meantime, Forget Me Not Flowers is your go-to spot for a floral pick-me-up. These single stem hydrangeas (and one buttery daffodil!) are adding some much needed freshness and life to a little kitchen window as the snow continues to fall outside.

If you’re not one for flowers, Forget Me Not also carries houseplants and home decor! Freshen up your space and look forward to the season ahead ✨

Indoor Farmers Market

It’s that time of year again where we start getting ready for our Winter Indoor Farmers’ Market upstairs in the Mezzanine! Running from 9am to 1pm, come buy your fresh, local food directly from your growers and producers to taste the Market experience! We can’t wait to see you there! February 14th to March 28th!

Sampling Sunday

Every Sunday here at the market, we host Sampling Sundays, a chance to try delicious bites from different vendors. Whether it’s your first time tasting or a reminder of how good it really is, it’s the perfect way to explore what’s local and tasty! This Sunday, we’re featuring: beef chili from Chris’ Country Cuts. Get some chili while it’s still chilly outside!
