Father’s Day Weekend

Chef Paul Paschink takes our Saturday cooking classes to a whole other level this Father’s Day weekend. The class will take place outdoors where Paul will be showcasing his smoker on wheels. Working with meat from our butchers and local farmers, he will take us on a journey and tour of what goes on behind the scenes of that sweet smokey flavour.
Bring the family down to our weekly Saturday farmers’ market, stock up on good food and learn something new.
The workshop is open to all, so bring a friend or come solo.
SEE YOU THEN!
Looking for a more personalized and eco friendly gift for dad? Come out and join our Kids Craft table and make a pine cone bird-feeder. We will be handing out a small bird identification pamphlet that you can take home with you and spend the summer watching birds with the family!
We will be using recycled products and nature such as a plastic bottle, toilet paper roll, or pine-cones. Bring your own if you can! The more the merrier. We will then coat the items in honey and bird seed to make this happen, so be prepared to get sticky and have fun!!
This past week, myself and Sam, our summer student had the privilege of going on a farm tour. It’s a fantastic aspect to the job and we get to see where the food is coming from and verify that the farmers and producers are truly the people behind the food.
Hannah Jansen gave us a tour of her family’s farm and it was so great to see how involved our vendors can be behind the scenes. Her and her brother Travis have started their company called Engaged Ag. This will be their debut to the London scene (travelling from Seaforth Ontario). They specialize in small scale chicken and lamb farming.
Come out this weekend to meet them!
