Hello 2022!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday break filled with good food and even better company. As mentioned in the last newsletter of 2021, you will notice my face around the Farmers’ Market as Patricia has started a new adventure. Although she will be missed by many, we are likely to see her friendly face around the Market shopping and visiting you all.  Although this 2022 year has started with its challenges, as did last year, I believe as a community we can make the most of it and stay optimistic for what is to come. While I (Sam) have been an avid shopper of the Farmers’ Market, I am very eager to get to know you all and learn more about your business and the amazing things you each have to offer.

A Little Bit About Me...

A little bit about myself… yes, my real name is Samantha! I grew up in the small town of Aylmer, Ontario and lived there my whole childhood. If I wasn’t playing a sport (or two) or camping with my family, you could find me helping and working at Aylmer Valumart which was owned by my parents for many years. After what felt like being stuck in my hometown, I decided to head to Peterborough to complete my post-secondary schooling in Business Administration with a high interest in Social Media & Marketing. Covid-19 hit during my graduating year (2020) and things began to drastically change. Although I loved living up north being so close to endless walking trails, lakes to canoe on, and only a 1-hour drive from our family cottage, moving closer to home was what I needed in these though times – I mean who doesn’t love a hug and a homecooked meal from their mom? So, after graduating in April 2020 I packed up with my partner, our two dogs and moved to London where we now have a home to call our own. You’ll see quickly that I care very much for dogs and have an excessively big, sweet tooth.
