Welcome to our lively beginning of July update! We hope your month has kicked off with sunny days and positive vibes.
Last week was filled with excitement, our doors were closed on Saturday and Sunday, making way for a fantastic kid zone event in the Rotary Square and bustling Canada Day celebrations happening around us. We sincerely hope everyone had an absolute blast!
As we dive into this week and beyond, we're picking up the pace with some incredible events. First, the highly anticipated Moms Market is taking place this Saturday from 3 pm to 7 pm, followed by the vibrant Multicultural Market on Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm. There's no doubt that fun and unforgettable experiences await, so mark your calendars and make sure you don't miss out.
And speaking of not missing out, have you entered the draw for the chance to win an iPad with Mustang dessert? Opening day is around the corner; this sweetness is something you definitely want to explore.

SATURDAY LIVE MUSIC

Tyrone Traher will be performing on the Rotary Square this Saturday from 8:30am to 10:30am.

Tyrone Traher II, known professionally as Paris Monroe, is a Canadian singer-songwriter from London, Ontario. Traher began developing the concept of Paris Monroe in January of 2021. The purpose of Paris Monroe is to create self-aware and relentlessly honest music that captures the entire spectrum of the human experience.

SATURDAY LIVE MUSIC

Renee Coughlin will be performing on the Rotary Square this Saturday from 11am to 1pm.

Renee Coughlin is one of three singer-songwriters with Canadian folk band, The Pairs. Her songs and stories tell tales of complex inner dialogue and give playful attention to the complexities and nuances of daily life. Renee writes and performs spunky, uplifting melodies that combine a genre-spanning love of music with classical training and some playful experimentation with lifelong friends

SATURDAY COOKING DEMO

This Saturday, join us in the market kitchen for our cooking class hosted by Kimi Abdullah. Kimi will be demonstrating how to make Summer Sliders!


Kimi will also taking donations for My Sister’s Place. My Sister’s Place is in need of the following items;

  • Used jewellery
  • Toiletry items (shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, razors, liquid body wash)
  • Unused makeup and unused/gently used makeup tools (eye shadow, blush, lipstick, brushes, brush cleaner)
  • Grab-and-go snacks (granola bars, applesauce cups, cereal bars )
  • Coffee, tea bags, sugar, coffee whitener
  • Pasta noodles, cooking oil, rice, olive oil, salad dressings

TUESDAY LIVE MUSIC

Dawn Gibson will be performing on the Rotary Square this Tuesday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

Since the age of three, Dawn has wanted to be a professional musician. She recalls doing an aptitude and rhythm test in order to be able to start learning guitar at such a young age. The first question was, “Why do you want to learn to play the guitar?” Her answer then, was, “Because one day I want to be a rock and roll star.” That remains her answer today. Dawn Gibson has toured professionally in the past opening for John Cougar Mellancamp and tom Cochrane. She took a long hiatus and back out chasing my dream now. Dawn Gibson has spent the last two years honing her solo act.

TUESDAY LIVE MUSIC

Trope Band will be performing this Tuesday on the Rotary Square from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

Trope is an alternative rock band with progressive elements featuring vocalist Diana Studenberg and producer/mixer Moonhead. Some of their influences include STP, Soundgarden, Deftones, Tool, Tori Amos, and Led Zeppelin. The band formed in 2017 and spent a couple of years writing and recording demos which became their debut album, Eleutheromania (2021).

THE MOM MARKET IS BACK

Join us outside on the Rotary Square this Saturday from 3pm to 7pm for a local vendor market hosted by The Mom Market London! SUNDAY LIVE MUSIC

Daubian Oliveira will be performing on the Rotary Square Sunday, July 9th from 11am to 1pm.

Daubian Oliveira performs latin jazz, bossa nova, samba and carnival music from Brazil. He has recently recorded an original track “Em Olinda,” which appears on the album “Latin Roots of London” with the Simple Reflections for Artists Collective.

Gianny Correa will be performing on the Rotary Square Sunday, July 9th from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Gianny Correa Born in Cuba .Started his music career in 1983 at the elementary music school in Cienfuegos Cuba, from 1990 -1995 continued to achieve his Bachelor in music at the National school of arts in Havana Cuba. In 1996 started to teach saxophone at the elementary Music school Benny More also play with various bands and recorded some CDs with the Label EGREM from Cuba and Magic Music from Spain .in 2000 was on tour in various Cities in Canada with the International show Repique Cubano. Decided to stay in Canada after the tour finished. Present Day continues to teach Saxophone, Piano and Percussion. Also Saxophone player and Musical director of Latin Power Band from London On

SUNDAY DANCE CLASSES ON THE SQUARE

If you’ve ever wanted to try Latin dancing, make sure to head on over to Rotary Square this Sunday from 4:00-6:00pm. Clarissa from @deflow_dance will be showing us her signature moves, so grab a partner and enjoy the sunshine!

COLOMBIAN FESTIVAL IS NEXT WEEKEND

Join us outside on the Market Square where Stereo Caliente Entertainment will host the annual Colombian Gastronomy Festival. Offering authentic Colombian food with a unique flavour of Latin music and a tasty cold beer or cocktail!
