BOOKS FOR SALE

Friends of the London Public Library will be here this Saturday outside at our Farmers’ Market with MANY books for sale! Proceeds raised by the book sales support enhancements to the library programs and services. Friends of the London Public Library is a volunteer organization that provides community support for our library system in London, Ontario. The Friends’ mandate is to advocate on behalf of the Library and to raise funds to provide value-added enhancements to Library programs and services.

OUTDOOR LIVE MUSIC

This Saturday Jason Mercer will be performing outside on the rotary square from 8:30AM to 10:30AM & Travis Beatty will be performing from 11AM to 1PM.

Travis Beatty aims to show London and the world what a man with a ukulele can do. With 4 strings and a soul that will fill, but also break, hearts Travis Beatty (aka B TEA), resides in London, Ontario and always aims to impress. With many covers as well as originals, he puts a different style and sound to everything he plays. From hit songs in rock, alternative, indie, pop and hip hop, he is slowly becoming a human radio.

SHIMMY MOB, TEAM LONDON ONTARIO CANADA PERFORMANCE

The Shimmy Mob is a worldwide dance event that features teams of dancers participating to raise money for their local Women’s Shelter. The teams all perform the same dance, on the same day, wearing the same t-shirt. Team London, Ontario Canada is participating for the 4th year in a row, and the participants are raising money for Anova. Come cheer us on, and try some moves yourself! SUNDAY COOKING DEMO

This Sunday, join us in the market kitchen for our cooking class hosted by Kimi Abdullah. Kimi will be demonstrating how to make 2 picnic sandwiches; A Curried Chickpea Wrap and Vietnamese Bahn Mi. Kimi will also taking donations for My Sister’s Place and will be gifting a box of fresh baked brownies to those who bring donations. My Sister’s Place is in need of the following items;

  • Used jewellery
  • Toiletry items (shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, razors, liquid body wash)
  • Unused makeup and unused/gently used makeup tools (eye shadow, blush, lipstick, brushes, brush cleaner)
  • Grab-and-go snacks (granola bars, applesauce cups, cereal bars )
  • Coffee, tea bags, sugar, coffee whitener
  • Pasta noodles, cooking oil, rice, olive oil, salad dressings

Join us outside on the Rotary Square on this Saturday, Mary 13th, for a local vendor market hosted by The Mom Market London!

MUSICAL POP-UP

On Saturday, May 13th, in the upstairs Mezzanine, YAO orchestra members will play what was performed at the April 19th concert (Casal’s and Mission Impossible). YAPCA chamber players will read through familiar and easy chamber music selections, and early Suzuki pieces arranged for quartets.
