Two more farmers are back with us – last weekend, Andrew and Ellen from Sungold and Orchard Hill Farm came back to market, and this weekend, Thames River Melons is back with a variety of vegetables and fruits, as well as a NEW farmer, Becky from Entangled Roots. They are a small-scale herb & flower farm and beekeeping operation that will have fresh herbs, seedlings, herbal teas, flowers, hot peppers, and honey as the seasons provide! This weekend, they will have a variety of sweet pepper seedlings including shishito, bangles, and habanada and will also be selling the seedlings of herbs and native pollinator plants. Come say hi and introduce yourself!
Also new this week is London Brewing Co-Operative! We mentioned last week that this is the first year that farmers’ markets in Ontario are allowed to have craft breweries come to market and we could not be more excited to have London Brewing Co-Operative be our first beer vendor. They are one of two independent craft breweries in Ontario producing certified organic beer. As a worker’s co-operative, they balance people, planets, and profits to bring you delicious beer from people who support our community and live the mantra: “local matters.” How exciting!
Vaka Chocolate is also making an appearance this weekend for Mother’s Day with their artisanal, and ethically sourced and crafted chocolate! Also back this weekend is Dave from Dave’s Beef & Lamb – he’s busy with planting season right now, but will be coming out just in time for Mother’s Day – whether you’re making a meal with mom, or bringing her one to enjoy, pick up all the fixings at market this weekend!
