We had a lot of wonderful vendors join us this past Saturday and many of them sold out early or nearly sold out! Our vendors work so hard to make sure there is enough for everyone but sometimes you surprise us! We’re so thankful for the support and hopefully they’ll have lots more in future weeks.
We were lucky to have two farmers with us, Greystead Gardens and Orchard Hill Farm. We’ve mentioned before how a lot of farmers don’t typically have fresh veg until about May or June so we are very lucky to have produce at the market in early April! Greystead Gardens will be with us throughout April with fresh veg and we’re thankful that Orchard Hill Farm could come out for our Easter Market – they will be back in May along with more of our growers! This weekend we also have Janssens Farm Fresh Produce joining us! We’re pretty blessed✨💛☀️
It got quite windy on Saturday and we had to start taking our canopies down about 15 minutes early – we don’t like to do this, and hopefully we won’t have to again! Weather is a tricky thing, though. This Saturday is supposed to be beautiful with a very small chance of rain for the morning. We will still be there, rain or shine, with our rain boots ready just in case! We can’t wait to see you!
The Ontario government has announced a Stay At Home Order, as well as stricter guidelines for retail operations. Thankfully, they understand the importance of Farmers’ Markets and we can be OPEN!
A couple of our vendors, including Da Costa Jewelry, cannot be with us during this lockdown, which we’re pretty disappointed about. However, we’re choosing to focus on the positives and there are many. We’ve been told that our flower farmer, The Wandering Bee, is allowed to be at the market this weekend which is wonderful!
And of course, all the usual suspects will be there as well. Check below for a full list!
A few reminders for Saturday:
💛 We’ll be open every Saturday from 8-1 Outdoors! We will be asking that our customers wait until 8am to enter the market space so our vendors can prepare for the day safely.
💛 All customers will be asked to answer a few screening questions, sanitize their hands, keep their distance, and walk one way.
💛 We strongly recommend that you wear a mask Outdoors too. IF you cannot, please make sure to keep as much distance as possible from customers and vendors.
💛 Live music is on hold, but we’ll still be dancing!
💛 Please enter only at Talbot Street or through the market. Do not skip the rope.
