News from the Farmers’ Market!

I can't believe it's already May! The weather has been wonderful and I can't wait to munch on all the fresh produce that's in season this month. A few of my favourites are asparagus and radishes, and I can't wait to have some rhubarb-strawberry pie. Mmm-Mmm. We also have some exciting news about the Farmers' Market! Access to local food is so important, especially now. Read below for an update, information on this week's virtual cooking class, and, as always, a list of our vendors whose product you still have access to. Enjoy the beautiful weather!

News from the Farmers' Market!

We are excited to share that our first Outdoor Farmers’ Market this year will be on Saturday, May 16th!

It is important, especially now, that we support our local farmers and producers and we are proud to be a link between them and our local community.

The Farmers’ Market will have to operate differently than usual, as the safety of our farmers, producers, customers, and staff is our priority. With approval from the Middlesex-London Health Unit, we will be implementing the following precautionary measures.

– For the time being, the Outdoor Farmers’ Market will not operate as a social gathering and we will have no seating and tables, no entertainment, and no activities or special events. We will be a grocery operation only and ask that you only attend to purchase your essential goods from your local producers.
– We will be limiting your entrance to the market square to Talbot Street where Security will be posted and screening customers, asking them to please sanitize their hands, be respectful of social distancing recommendations, and follow the Outdoor Farmers’ Market’s new safety rules. We will be monitoring the number of people present in the market square, as well as guiding their path towards a safe exit.
– We recommend the use of contactless methods of payment and encourage pre-orders and pick-up at the market whenever possible.
– At this time, the Outdoor Farmers’ Market will only be open on Saturdays from 9-1.

The past weeks have been difficult, but it has made us appreciate our wonderful local community even more than usual! Thank you for supporting your local producers as they continue to amaze us and find creative ways to connect you to their products! We are stronger together.

Thank you, and stay safe!

Virtual Cooking Class

This weekend, we will be trying something different and won’t be hosting a Live Facebook Cooking Class. Instead, we will be posting a video of the class for you on Saturday! Chef Ankita Vaidya will be joining us again and we will post the recipe on the website for you as soon as it is available!

Thanks so much to everyone who has joined us for our past videos – your support is much appreciated!
