There will be so much Thanksgiving bounty at Market this weekend!
Your farmers have you covered when it comes to your mains, whether you’re looking for potatoes, corn, beets, salad mix, brassicas, carrots, kale… I could go on and on and we’d be here past Thanksgiving!
Additionally, Shirley will have a variety of different cuts of bison available. Whether you’re a roast family or want to switch it up with some steaks, make sure to stop by. Carver’s will have chickens and pork cuts as well. Did you have the chance to place a turkey order? They’ll be doing farm pick-ups on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. A less traditional option is fish! Did you see the great roast fish recipe I added above? While not the usual option for a main, fish is a fantastic option and can be customized with a world of flavours for your preference!
Do not forget your bakers! A loaf of fresh bread for dipping in gravy, a bun for a turkey sandwich, pastries and treats for before-dinner snacks, a pie (or two) for dessert, a savoury galette for a lovely addition to dinner… my mouth is watering! We will have Dee from Made from Scratch joining us this weekend as well, a special treat to get your special treats!
Finish off your meal with a fine wine or beer, delicious sauces, a great cheese, a floral centrepiece, and something special for your pup!
It’s always so convenient to have Thanksgiving on a Monday. All your food is fresh from the Market two days prior – the best way to enjoy the season’s bounty and give thanks to our Earth!
We have a fun event coming your way this weekend! A Pizza and Wine Festival! In my humble opinion, there are few greater pairings than pizza and wine and this weekend is the time to enjoy it. There will be live music and beer as well for those who prefer it!

After a hiatus last year, Fall Food Fest is BACK!
Fall Food Fest is one of our annual events that we host in conjunction with Growin Chefs. It’s a celebration of Fall, Food, and Community. We’ll be announcing more information next week, but mark your calendars for next weekend, October 16th from 10 am to 1 pm!

Last week’s cooking class was led by Chef Ankita Vaidya where she taught the process of making a Banh Mi Sandwich with a black bean pate. Those who attended the class know how delicious the result was! This has always been one of my favourite sandwiches and I can’t wait to try the process myself at home. Here’s the recipe for you to try.
This week, we have Chef Kimi Abdullah leading our cooking class. She will be making Weeknight Soto Ayam, an Indonesian Chicken Soup! The class begins at 5 on Thursday, outdoors on the square. See you there!
